James L. “Jim“ Botkin

James L. “Jim” Botkin, 76, of Forest City, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the Oregon Care Center.

He was born on December 18, 1945 in Oregon to Jerry and Dorothy (Yavorski) Botkin. He graduated from Oregon High School.

Jim was a mechanic with the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam. Afterwards he ran Botkin’s Country Store for many years.

On Dec. 11, 1990 he married Dottie. She survives of their Forest City home. Other survivors include their children, Bayron (Christine) Botkin of Vacaville, California, Larry (Sara) Benjamin of Forest City, Regina Murphy of Cooksville, Tennessee, Penny Smith of St. Joseph, and Angela (Mick) Nondorf of Yorkville, Illinois; brother, Robert (Diane) Botkin of Shawnee, Kansas; sister, Sally (Ernie) Schmidt of Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Larry Botkin.

Services with full military honors: Monday, October 31, 2022, 3:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 pm.
