Janet K. Archer

Janet Kay (Sipes) Archer was born in Forest City, Missouri on August 18, 1947 to Junior Lester and Doris Pauline (Buckles) Sipes. She was one of four children. Janet was born and raised in Forest City, MO, and attended Forest City High School.

After high school Janet became a CNA, and worked at several care centers. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and painting, reading romance novels, and watching Westerns and cartoons. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Janet passed away at a Maryville, MO hospital on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the age of 77.

Preceding her in death were her parents; grandson, Jed Workman; and granddaughter, Kelly Jo McClanahan.

Survivors include her children, Elliott McClanahan of Forest City, Lagetha (Lance) Sloniker of Maryville, MO, Dena Workman of New Point, MO, Lesley Ramsay of Oregon, MO, and Robyn (Jamie) Egger of Aurora, NE.; seven grandchildren, Drake Ramsay, Brennan Sloniker, Kayla  Messbarger, Hannah Pazcosa, Alec Egger, Maddox Egger, and Melissa McClanahan; and great grandchildren, Elle, Avery, Aspyn, and Haizley Messbarger,  Ian and Jett Pazcosa, Wesley and Xavier Egger, and James McClanahan; sisters, Cindy (Russ) Guyer, and Sandy Kemerling; brother, Michael (Leona) Sipes, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and interment: Wednesday, March 12, 2025, 2:00 pm, Benton Church Cemetery, Forest City, MO. Family will greet friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon, MO. Memorials may be directed to the Benton Church Cemetery.
