Jay Carson Jasper was born in Barnard, Missouri on April 15, 1932 to Lloyd C. and Clarelena (Carson) Jasper. Jay graduated from Maitland High School.
On May 16, 1953 he married Shirley Ann Rockhold in Norborne, Missouri. Jay then served in the U.S. Army for two years, from 1953 to 1955.
Jay worked for 30 years for the Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline. He also farmed.
Jay passed away on July 10, 2019 at a Maryville, Missouri nursing home at the age of 87.
Survivors include his cousin, Kay Gilland, and her husband Fred, of Mound City, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; brother, Bobby Dean Jasper; and Kay's son Layne Vest.
Jay was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Mound City.
Services: Monday, July 15, 2019, 2:00 pm, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Interment: Tuesday, July 16, 2019, 11:30 am, Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri. Memorials may be directed to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund.
