Jeane Iliene Crouse, 93, of Mound City, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017, at Tiffany Heights Nursing Home in Mound City.
She was born April 20, 1924 in Forest City, Missouri, the daughter of Keith Dewey Foster and Carrie (Prussman) Foster, and graduated from Forest City High School.
On May 11, 1942, she married Robert “Bob” C. Crouse. This year, Jeane and Bob celebrated their 75
th
wedding anniversary with family and friends.
The couple lived in St. Joseph for four years while Bob sold automobiles for his father at Harry Crouse Motors and served in the U.S. Army.
Following Bob’s discharge from the army, the couple opened Crouse Brothers Motors with Bob’s brother Paul and wife Ruth. Jeane was the first secretary. The couple purchased the business from Paul and Ruth in 1974 and changed the name to Crouse Motors. In 1985, Jeane and Bob opened R & J Ford, which they operated for seventeen years. They were in the automobile business for 58 years.
Jeane was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Keith “Coop” Foster, William “Bill” Foster, and Henry Royce Foster.
She is survived by her loving husband Bob; two children, Robert (Christina) Crouse, Jefferson City, Mo., and Deborah (Steven) Loucks, Mound City; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Street. Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City.
