Jerry L. Rowlett

Jerry L. Rowlett, 66, formerly of Mound City, Mo. and Ottumwa, Iowa, passed away Nov. 25, 2017 at his Plattsburg home.

Jerry was born Jan. 22, 1951 and graduated from Mound City High School in 1969.

He married Janice Long on June 7, 1972, and they became parents of four daughters. They lived in Ottumwa for many years while Jerry was working as a shipping supervisor for Cargill. Jerry and Janice moved to Plattsburg in 2015.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Alma and Naomi (Miller) Rowlett; infant brother, William; sister, Diana Volz; and nephew, Ryan Volz.

Survivors include his wife, Janice, of their home; daughters, Angela (Samuel) Church of Gower, Mo., Robin (Jim) Carle of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Staci Spencer of Plattsburg, Mo., and Jenny Gee of St. Joseph, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Jerry was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed golfing. He attended the Church of Jesus Christ, St. Joseph Restoration Branch.

Services: Wed., Nov. 29, 2017, 10:30 am, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Family visitation: Tues., Nov. 28, 2017, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the funeral home. Interment: Maitland Cemetery. Memorials: American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
