Joan R. Lehmer was born on January 14, 1932 in Forest City, Missouri, one of five children of Earl and Claracy (Dozier) Rasnic. She attended Forest City High School.
On October 8, 1948 Joan married Jacob L. “Jake” Lehmer, and they became parents of five children.
The Lehmer family farmed in Holt County. Joan was a member of the Woodville Presbyterian Church, Holt County Republican Women, Holt County Extension, DAR, and VFW Auxiliary.
Joan passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Oregon Care Center at the age of 85.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Jake, in 1999; their son, Jacob “Chip” Lehmer; brothers, Layman, Charles and Larry Rasnic; and sister, Louise Caton.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura (Tom) Oldham of Doniphan, Missouri; sons, David (Debbie) Lehmer of Oregon, Missouri, Mark (Pam) Lehmer of Mound City, Missouri, and John (Michelle) Lehmer of Manhattan, Kansas; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services: Sat., Dec. 2, 2017, 10:30 am, Woodville Presbyterian Church, Oregon, Missouri. Family visitation: Friday, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Private family inurnment: Maple Grove Cemetery, Oregon. Memorials: Oregon Care Center Activity Fund or Alzheimer’s Association.
