Joseph "Jody Bob" Dodson

Joseph R. “Jody Bob” Dodson was born in Fortescue, Mo. on Nov. 17, 1949 to Dennis A. and Dorothy (Minton) Dodson.

Jody graduated from Craig High School in 1967, and then attended Northwest Missouri State University. He farmed in Holt County.

Jody married Phyllis Bryan on June 30, 1989. She survives of their Bigelow home.

Jody passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at a St. Joseph hospital at the age of 67.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Andrea Nowling; and a brother, John A. Dodson.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; children, Robyn (Brian) Robinson of Lincoln, Neb., Catherine Ludwig of Woodbine, Iowa, Sean Bryan of Mound City, Mo., Nikki Poppa (Shane George) of Mound City, and Kevin (Meridee) Dodson of Maryville, Mo.; sister, Elizabeth Burnsides of Maryville, Mo.; brother, Dennis Dodson, Jr. of Mena, Ariz.; and nine grandchildren.

Services: Sat., August 12, 2017, 1:00 pm, Mound City United Methodist Church. Family visitation: Fri., August 11, 2017, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with Masonic services at 7:30 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City. Memorials: Masonic Lodge or charity of donor’s choice.
