Juanita L. Clemens

May 12, 1917 — November 22, 2013

Juanita L. (Edelman) Clemens was born on May 12, 1917  in Benton, Missouri, the daughter of Samuel and Lora (Reno) Edelman. She grew up around the Bolckow, Missouri area.

On March 7, 1934 she married Howard J. Clemens in Marysville, Kansas.
Juanita and Howard lived in St. Joseph for a few years, and then moved to Mound City, where Howard worked as a blacksmith and welder, and Juanita sold Avon products. They moved to Dumas, Texas in August of 1995. Howard passed away in 1996.

Juanita passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at a Dumas nursing home at the age of 96.

In addition to her husband, preceding her in death were her parents; son, Jerry; an infant daughter; brothers, Clifford and Forest Edelman and their spouses; and sister, Iola.


Survivors include her grandchildren, David R. and Michael D. Clemens, and Nyoka J. Foltz; great grandsons, Matthew and Nicholas Clemens; great granddaughters, Kaylee Clemens and Avery Foltz; and nieces and nephews.

Juanita was a member of the First Christian Church in Mound City.

Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. Interment was held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
