Judy L. French

Julia “Judy” L. (Smith) French, passed away January 19 , 2023. Judy was born in Mound City, MO on February 4 , 1936, daughter of Emory “Straw” and Myrtle “Cook” (Robinson) Smith.

Judy married O. Earl French on May 15 , 1955. They had one child, a son, O.E. French II. They both preceded her in death.

Judy worked as an E.M.T with the Atchison Holt Ambulance District for over 20 years. She was also a Deputy Sheriff with the Holt County Sheriff department for more than eight years. Judy wore many other hats over her life, but her prize ones were Mom, Grandma, and being Mama Judy to her great grandson.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Michael (Tiffany) French, and Mary (Richard) Farrow, great-grandson Oliver French, brother Maurice (Phyllis) Smith, one nephew and five nieces.

Farewell services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23 , 2023 at Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. Burial: Maple Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Maple Grove Cemetery tree fund.
