Katie L. Portman was born in Fairfax, Missouri on August 8, 1993. She was one of three daughters of Steve and Brandy Portman.
Katie graduated from Mound City High School in 2012, where she was active in volleyball, FFA, FCCLA, FBLA and was awarded the William White DAR award.
Katie attended NWMSU for two years, and was currently working in Mound City.
Katie passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 in Mound City at the age of 21.
Survivors include her parents, and sisters Bayleigh and Ava Portman, all of Mound City; lifelong friend and boyfriend, Kelby Siekman of Mound City; maternal grandmother, Karen Mattioda of Barnard, Missouri; paternal grandmother, Terry Martin of Mound City; aunts, Stephanie Portman, Misty Stadalman, and Shelly Portman; great aunts and uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Services: Friday, June 5, 2015, 10:30 am, River of Hope Church, Mound City. Interment: Graham Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham, Missouri. The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City, Missouri. Memorials: the Katie L. Portman Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
