Kenneth E. Scroggins

Kenneth E. Scroggins, 64, of Blue Eye, Mo., formerly of Forbes, Mo., passed away on February 12, 2012 at a Springfield, Missouri hospital.

He was born in Hamburg, Iowa on May 14, 1947 to the late Lawrence and Eva Scroggins. He graduated from Lafayette High School in St. Joseph.

He retired after 33 years with the Quaker Oats Co. in St. Joseph. Mr. Scroggins and his wife of 46 years, Nancy (Wales) Scroggins lived in Forbes, Missouri until his retirement in 2001. They later moved to Blue Eye.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Charles E. “Gene” Cox. He is survived by his wife of their home, daughter, Lora Kurtz and husband Dave of Platte City, Missouri; sons, Ryan and his wife Alesia of Camden Point, Missouri, Aron and wife Kristin of Westin, Missouri, and son Justin of Blue Eye; brother, Lawrence Jr. “Jay” and his wife Sharon of Cape Fair, Missouri; sister, Loretta J. “Joy” Cox of Amazonia, Missouri; six grandchildren, Ashley and Lauren Kurtz, Taylor, Zachary, Jakob, and Alaina Scroggins; and nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 10:30 am, at the Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Interment was held at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the ALS Association.
