Larry E. Guy, 73, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his Oregon, Missouri home.
He was born in Forest City, Missouri on March 18, 1945, the youngest of three children of Delbert L. “Short” and Gladys M. (Bruntmyer) Guy.
Larry graduated from Craig High School in 1963. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. While stationed in Japan, Larry met and later married Toyoko Nakagawa on February 9, 1970.
Larry worked for MoDOT until his retirement in 1998. He was an active member of the Oregon Christian Church.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sandra A. Rebel.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Toyoko, of their Oregon home; sister, Paula Noland; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Tomiko (Toshiuki) Yamamoto, and Kazuko (Tomibisa) Yoshida; nieces and nephews, Keith Rebel of North Platte, Nebraska, Rheta (Marco) Muniz of Alabama, Gene (Nikki) Rebel of Texas, Dean A. (C.J.) Rebel of Texas, Kerry (Mike) Brock of Oregon, Missouri, Keven (Chris) Webster of Mound City, Missouri, Cody Webster of Liberty, Missouri, Ed Webster of St. Joseph, Missouri, Breanna Noland of Kansas City, Missouri, Shinichi, Kaigi and Shūzō Nakagawa, Hideki Yamamoto, Yashuko Hirata, Nanami Nitta, Emi Fugita, and Makoto Yoshida; and many great nieces and nephews.
Services with military flag folding: Friday, January 25, 2019, 11:00 am, Oregon Christian Church. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am at the church. Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery, Oregon, Missouri. Memorials may be directed to the Oregon Christian Church.
