Lawrence A. “Larry” Howard was born on July 18, 1921 in Moulton, Iowa. He was the son of William H. and Olive M. (Ryan) Howard.
Larry graduated from Moulton High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945, and fought on the beaches of Normandy in the D-Day Invasion.
On Dec. 22, 1959 he married Donna Faye Painter in Springfield, Missouri.
Larry worked as an insurance adjuster. He also owned and operated Howard’s Body Shop in St. Joseph, and worked as a foreman at Keith Marsh Chevrolet, also in St. Joseph.
Larry passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at a St. Joseph hospital at the age of 92.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, LaVerne, Marvin, Wayne, Ermon, and William H. Howard, Jr.; and sisters, Olaf Osborne and Florence Kirby.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Savannah, Missouri; a sister, Maxine Brunsmann of Winterset, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the VFW, and a member of the Harris E. Petree American Legion Post #190.
