Leo E. Oppenlander was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on July 28, 1976. He was one of three sons of John H. and Shelley (Slagle) Oppenlander.
Leo graduated from Oregon High School. He married Kellie Maser on September 27, 2009 in Oregon.
Leo was currently working as a parts and service technician for Fox Welding-Vermeer Equipment in Greenfield, Iowa.
Leo passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014 at a Greenfield hospital.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandfather, John Oppenlander; and maternal grandparents, Luke and Marvis Slagle.
Survivors include his wife, Kellie, of their Greenfield home; parents, John and Shelley Oppenlander of Oregon, Missouri; paternal grandmother, Virginia “Ding-Ding” Oppenlander of Oregon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Ray and Kylea Oppenlander of Katy, Texas and Eli and Katie Oppenlander of St. Joseph; stepsons, Ron, Cody and Clint Maser; step grandchildren, Hope Maser and Lincoln Howe; and two nieces, Lily and Emma Oppenlander.
Leo served on the Greenfield Volunteer Fire Department, and enjoyed working with Kellie at their family business, LK Mirrors in Greenfield.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Oppenlander family farm. Memorials may be directed to the Leo Oppenlander family .
