Linda K. Painter was born on May 24, 1943, one of four girls born to Leonard D. and Esther L. (Werhli) Huntsman.
Linda graduated from Maitland High School. On July 20, 1982 she married James R. “Ronnie” Painter in St. Joseph. Linda retired from Heartland West Hospital in 1993.
Linda passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at a St. Joseph hospital at the age of 70.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doris Meyer; brothers-in-law, P. M. Herbert and Glenn Meyer; sister-in-law, Evelyn Painter;stepson, David Painter; stepson-in-law, Ted Phillipi; grandson, Eli Segrist; and step grandson, David Painter, Jr.
Linda is survived by her husband, Ronnie, of their Maitland home; her daughters, Lora Lee and her husband James Lee Kalaher of Walshville, Illinois, Christine Brown of Clarksdale, Missouri, and Linda “Nicky” Compton of Kirksville, Missouri; stepchildren, Rhonda Phillipi of Craig, Missouri, Jody Ann Painter of Atchison, Kansas, James R. “Jay”
and his wife Angela Painter of St. Joseph, Cricket Greoenke, and Timothy
and his wife Elfie Keller of King City, Missouri; sisters, Frances Herbert of Maitland, and Charlotte and her husband Bob Sherod of Pleasanton, California; brother-in-law, Richard Painter of Dunbar, West Virginia; grandchildren, Bradly Nichols, Christina Greer, Elisha and Sarah Seigrist, Natania and Myla Clemens, Jamie “Sue” Dulcan, Lindrick Willis, and Tymrie Pankake; 10 step grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
Services were held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 10:30 am at the Woodville Presbyterian Church in Oregon. Family visitation was held Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. Interment was at New Point Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Woodville Presbyterian Church.
