Lois D. Clair

Lois D. Clair, 94, of Mound City, Missouri, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at a Maryville, Missouri care center.

Lois was born in Fortescue, Missouri on November 27, 1927 to Carl M. and Luva I. (Hines) Adkison. Lois graduated from Fortescue High School. Shortly after graduation she married William "Bill" Penney. They later divorced.

Lois worked in Mound City at Bowers grocery store, the local drug store, and various other businesses.

On May 8, 1965 she married Francis “Poncho” Clair. He preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Donald L. Adkison.

She is survived by a son, John Penney and his family of Mediapolis, Iowa; brother, Carl R. (Darlene) Adkison of Galva, Illinois; and nieces and nephews, including Rick Adkison.

Services: Wednesday, October 5, 2022, 1:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery.
