M. Alan Knowles

Maurice Alan Knowles was born on February 22, 1946 in West Palm Beach, Florida to Maurice H. and Martha A. “Abbie” (McMillan) Knowles.

Alan served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1966. He then attended Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

Alan worked as CPA at Pratt & Whitney aerospace manufacturing company. He was also president and director of Management Broker, Inc., and controller at Baker-Hill Industries.

Alan passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Oregon Care Center in Oregon, Missouri at the age of 71.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Edith Marie “Mimi” Little; brothers, Richard and Dennis Knowles; and sister, Josephine Vandergriff.

Survivors include his nephews, Christopher (Cheri) Knowles, Jason (Gwen) Knowles, and Kevin Knowles, all of Mound City; Danny and Dale Moon of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, and Dennis Moon of Thomaston, Georgia.

Services are pending at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City.
