Margaret Ruth “Billi” Bahler was born Oct. 31, 1952 in El Reno, Oklahoma, the daughter of Gerald and Irene Scott, and sister of Lola Marie Scott and Gary Lee Scott. Billi grew up in Oklahoma City. She was an Oklahoma Christian graduate, later getting her Masters in Special Education.
On June 6, 1975 she married Terry Neil Bahler. She was a devoted mother of two children, Betsy and Scott.
Billi was first and for most a follower of Jesus! She was a Prayer Warrior for many. She proclaimed her faith quietly, encouraging all whom she met.
For 30 years she was devoted to helping students with learning and physical disabilities. Her 1999 mission trip to Haiti reflected her lifetime love for helping others. Her last eight years she found it a great joy to teach and work at John Glenn Elementary in Savannah, Missouri.
Billi passed away peacefully on Friday morning, March 20, 2015, surrounded by her loving family and friends. During her three-year battle with lung cancer she was constantly cared for by her devoted husband Terry, dedicated family and loyal friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Raymond Scott, and sister, Lola Marie Scott.
Billi is survived by her husband, Terry; daughter, Betsy Bahler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son, Scott (Marianne) Bahler, Camarillo, California; granddaughter, Jane Anne Ruth Bahler; mother, Irene Harris Scott of Savannah; and brother, Gary Lee Scott of Oklahoma City.
In honor and celebration of her life, funeral services will be held Wed., March 25, 2015, at 11:00 pm at the First Christian Church in Oregon, Missouri. Friends may visit from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Oregon.
