Marguerite Louise (Coulter) Elder was born on July 11, 1920 in Vermillion, Kansas. She was one of seven children of George and Etta Mae (Holsapple) Coulter and graduated from Centralia, Kansas High School.
On July 30, 1939 Marguerite married David (Dave) Elder in Marysville, Kansas and they had four children. They lived in Oregon, Missouri for many years, and celebrated 69 years of marriage before his death in 2008.
Marguerite passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at The Gardens assisted living center in Kansas City, Missouri. Marguerite was preceded in death also by all of her siblings -- Harvey and Floyd Coulter, Ella Josephine Schreiver, Sylvia Collins, Dorothy Jenkins and Georgia Boltz.
Marguerite is survived by her children and their spouses, Charles Elder and Rita Richey of Huntington Woods, Michigan, Kay and Donald Brader of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sue and Richard Meyer of Maitland, Missouri, and Denny and Barbara Elder of Agency, Missouri; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and inurnment were held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 10:30 am at Maple Grove Cemetery in Oregon. Following the services, the family greeted friends at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. Memorials may be directed to the Maple Grove Cemetery.
