Marie E. Sipes

Marie E. Sipes was born on February 8, 1925 in Langdon, Missouri. She was the daughter of Otis Hubert and Martha Sarahann (Ward) Green.

Marie attended Forbes grade school and then Rock Port High School. On March 23, 1942 she married Lynn Sipes in Oregon, Missouri, and they became parents of five children.

Marie passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at her Oregon home at the age of 87.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Kenny Sipes; daughter, Patricia Peterson; brothers, LeRoy and Robert Green; sister, Joyce Nielson; grandchildren, Stephen Mckenzie, Scott Peterson, and Eric Peterson; and great grandchild, Austin “Levi” Meyer.

Survivors include her husband, Lynn, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Larry Wright of Craig, Missouri; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Phyllis Sipes of Forest City, Missouri, and James and Diane Sipes of Rosendale, Missouri; brother and sister-in-law, Rollin and Shirley Green of Henrico, Virginia; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Services were held on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. Family visitation was Wednesday evening from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Interment was at Highland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Kendallwood Hospice, Oregon Church of the Nazarene, or the Mound City Nutrition Site.
