Mark W. Showalter

Mark Wendell Showalter was born in Fairfax, Missouri on Feb.17, 1951. He was the oldest of six children of Ralph Wendell and Margaret Diane (Raiser) Showalter. Mark graduated from Park Hill High School in 1969.
He worked for the Burlington-Northern Railroad as a switchman. After retiring from the railroad he worked as a long haul truck driver for Crete Carrier Corporation. He had also worked as a carpenter.
Mark passed away unexpectedly at his Pleasant Valley, Missouri home on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the age of 64.
He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother, Diane E. Reax’ure of Kansas City, Missouri; stepmother, Mavis Showalter of Jerico Springs, Missouri; siblings and their spouses, Becky Draper-Stuck and husband James of St. Joseph, Missouri, David (Karen) Showalter of Richmond, Texas, Philip (Lisa) Showalter of Jamesport, Missouri, Stephen Showalter of Simpsonville, South Carolina and Carolyn Hills of Parkville, Missouri; nieces and nephews; and close friend, Robbie Butler.
Services: Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, 1:00 pm, River of Hope Fellowship, Mound City, Mo. Family will greet friends following the services. Interment: Tharp Cemetery, Craig, Mo. Memorials: Friends of Sharp's Grove.
