Maxine Taylor

March 30, 1923 — April 26, 2016

Maxine Smith Taylor, 93, passed away April 26, 2016 at Mosiac Life Care in St. Joseph.

Maxine was a native of Butler, Missouri and moved to Mound City in the 1950’s, where she has lived and worked ever since. Maxine cooked at several restaurants, including The Klub in Mound City.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Noah B. and G. Elizabeth “Betty” (Chandler) Berry; brothers Buford, Leo, John, Charles, Roy, Abe and Jack Berry; and sisters, Thelma Stanton, Nellie Guthrie, Geraldine Skaggs and Clara Berry.

She is survived by her children, Tim Smith of Mound City; Judi Kinney of St. Joseph, Missouri and Jonell Smith (Brian Knapp) of Mound City; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren;  two great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: Friday, April 29, 2016, 2:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City, Missouri. Family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 prior to the services. Interment at Benton Cemetery, Mound City. Memorials to the Benton Cemetery Association.
