Michael W. Voltmer

Michael Wayne Voltmer was born on February 9, 1971 in Fairfax, Missouri. He was one of three children of Wayne and Beverly Ruth (Todd) Voltmer.

Michael graduated from Craig High School in 1989.

On February 5, 1994 Michael was united in marriage to Lisa J. James.

He entered the United States Air Force in 1991 and served until 2001, with tours overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan, and England.

After being discharged from the Air Force, Michael joined the Air National Guard as a member of the 139 ^th Airlift Wing. He was currently working in security at the Rosecrans Memorial Airport in St. Joseph.

Michael passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at a  St. Joseph, Missouri hospital.

He is survived by his wife Lisa, of their Burlington Junction home; their children, Brook Voltmer (Jeff Westcott), Maryville, Missouri, Stephen Voltmer (Jade Embley), Kevin, Amber, Cailin and Christian Voltmer, Cassie Lebow, and Billiegene Van Pelt, all of the home; siblings, Andy (Amy) Voltmer, Mound City and Mindi Voltmer, Craig, Missouri; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, and drinking coffee. His favorite pastime was playing with his children, especially playing video games.

Services: Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, 10:30 am, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City. Family will greet friends at the church beginning at 9:00 am. Interment with military honors: Craig I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Voltmer family.
