Nancy Carol Brickey

Nancy Carol (Giles) Brickey was born in Mount Moriah, Missouri on May 26, 1938. She was the first of nine children born to Joseph William “Joe” and Lois Lavon (Preston) Giles. Carol graduated from Mount Moriah High School, and later from Gard Business School, St. Joseph, Missouri in 1958.

On July 10, 1959 she married Larry Brickey in St. Joseph, Missouri. They became parents of four children. Carol and Larry worked on their farm east of Mound City and Carol also worked as a bookkeeper for a few years. Together they operated a mowing service for 35 years. Carol was a member of the Mound City Baptist Church for 60 years. She worked with the Shiloh 4-H Club for 15 years.

Carol passed away at a St. Joseph hospital on Saturday, June 1, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Becky Bradham; granddaughter, Danielle Lynn Bradham; brothers, Leslie and George Giles; sisters, Betty Lieffring and Joanne Clayton.

Carol is survived by her husband of 64 years, Larry, of Mound City; daughter, Ginny (Bobby) Stone; son, William “Bill” (Juanita) Brickey; daughter, Ginger (John) Jones; six grandchildren, Nicole (Simon) Andrade, Nathan (Rachel) Brickey, Robert (Suzanne) Bradham, J’Lee, GiGi and Harrison Jones; five great grandchildren, Sawyer, Sutton and Simon Jr. Andrade; Boone Lee Brickey, and Paisley Bradham; brothers, Marvin Giles, Mount Moriah, Jim Giles, Dyersburg, Tennessee, sisters, June Buntin, Clarksdale, Missouri and Sue (Steve) Miller, Columbia, Missouri; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Giles, Trenton, Missouri; and brother-in-law, Chuck Lieffring, St. Joseph, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: 11:00 am Thursday, June 6, 2024, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City, Missouri, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00.
