Opal Gorman, 96, of Mound City, Mo. passed away on Feb. 21, 2017 at a Mound City care center.
She was born in Madrid, Iowa on July 30, 1920, and attended school in Rulo, Neb. Opal worked at a Maryville, Mo. nursing home for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Sylvia May (Adams) Lock; brothers, Howard and Virgil Lock; sister, Mary Lock and infant sister, Jennie Lock; son-in-law, Otis Dettmann; daughter-in-law, Jane Koenig; and one grandchild.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Dorothy (Sebastian) Lombardo of Stockton, Mo., Alberta Dettmann of Hiawatha, Kan., Paul Koenig, Jr. of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Patricia (Lee) Dearmont of Skidmore, Mo., DeWayne (Kay) Koenig of Hartville, Mo., George Koenig of Yazoo City, Mo., and Ernest Gorman of Rushville, Mo.; brother, Elmo Lock of Lafayette, Louisiana; sister, Mildred Nuzum of White Cloud, Kan.; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services: Mon., Feb. 27, 2017, 2:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City, Missouri. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 pm prior to the services. Interment: Rulo Cemetery. Memorials: Mound City Nutrition Site.
