Paul Lavern Worley

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Lavern Worley, on October 3, 2024, at age 70.

Paul was born November 2, 1953 in Mound City, Missouri to his parents, Junior and Margaret Worley. He was raised in Craig, Missouri where he grew up with his younger brother, enjoyed playing football, and graduated high school.

Following graduation, Paul entered the workforce at Excel in Rock Port, Missouri where he met his future wife, Rose Fischer. They were united in marriage July 7, 1973 and had two daughters, Tara and Ericka. The family enjoyed camping and Paul loved all things outdoors! When not at work or home he could be found hunting, fishing, or gardening. Paul was a hard worker and committed to a career with Cargill Industries until his retirement in 2016. He was a proud father and grandfather! His grandsons, Justice and Ethan, were his pride and joy. They spent summers visiting their Peepaw in Nebraska, learning the skills of fishing and hunting. Paul made many trips to Oklahoma throughout the years to visit family and enjoyed bringing his mother, Margaret, along as his copilot.

In February 2024, Paul married Maggie Corrales of Columbus, Nebraska. They lived in Columbus until the time of his diagnosis. On September 12, 2024, Paul began to experience unexplained control of his right side and obtained medical attention. Once transported to Omaha for further testing, Paul was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer. He spent his finals days with his children, wife, and mother in Oklahoma where he passed.

Preceded on joining the Lord; father, Junior Worley, and sister, Mona Worley.

Survived by: wife, Maggie Corrales; daughters, Tara Worley and Ericka Jeffords; son-in-law, Desmon Jeffords; grandsons, Justice and Ethan Jeffords; mother, Margaret (Cook) Worley; brother, Michael Worley and sister-in-law, Brenda Worley; and he is survived by several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Our father did not like funerals and desired no fuss to made about him so let's make this a time of reminiscing about his remarkable life! A meal and refreshments will be provided at a Celebration of Life at Toad Hollar in Mound City on Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
