Charlott Madeline “Peg” Parsons, 89, of Forest City, Mo., passed away August 9, 2017 at an Oregon, Missouri healthcare facility.
She was born in Forest City on Jan. 26, 1928, the third of four children of Joseph Oswald and Margaret Lois (Arnold) Munyon.
Peg graduated from Forest City High School in 1946. On June 25, 1947 she married Charles W. Parsons in Troy, Kansas. They became parents of two children, Jerry and Saundra.
Peg and Charles owned Parsons’ Sundries in Forest City for many years.
Charles passed away in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Cromer; and Saundra’s partner, Carl Mackey.
Survivors include her son, Charles J. “Jerry” (Svitlana) Parsons, Fruita, Colorado; daughter, Saundra Markt, Forest City; sister, Maxine Wohlford, Forest City; brother, Albert (Mary Lee) Munyon, Oregon, Missouri; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services: Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, 10:30 am, Forest City United Methodist Church. Family visitation: Sunday, August 13, 2017, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon; Interment: Forest City Union Cemetery.
