Philip A. “Phil” Blazer, 74, of Mound City, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020 at a St. Joseph, Missouri hospital.
He was born in Mound City on April 21, 1946, one of three children of Charles F. and Alma L. (Vandeventer) Blazer.
Phil graduated from Mound City High School and was a lifetime resident. He worked for Stuart Disposal for the past 45 years.
Phil was a member of the Mound City Rural Fire Department. He enjoyed his grandkids and great grandkids, hanging out at Big Lake, and cutting wood on Sunday.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his three sons, Scott (Tammy), of Mound City, Brian (Kathy) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Kevin (Ronna) of Shawnee, Kansas; brother, Charlie Bill (Lavona) Blazer of Forest City, Missouri; sister, Janet (Earl) Cromer of Oregon, Missouri; longtime friend Renick Stuart and his family; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, 10:30 am, at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. The family will greet friends on Monday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Mound City Rural Fire Department.
