Phyllis J. Morris

Phyllis J. Morris, 87, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at an Oregon, Mo. care center.

Phyllis was born on Oct. 4, 1930 in Wathena, Kan., one of eight children of Emil and Naomi Blanche (Goin) Young. She graduated from Fortescue High School in 1948.

On Feb. 14, 1954 she married Donald Morris, and they became parents of three sons. Phyllis was a homemaker. Donald passed away in 1984.

Phyllis was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joseph Morris in 2014; an infant brother; an infant sister, Phyllis Jean Young; and brother, William L. Young.

Survivors include her sons, Dale (Mechelle) Morris of Oregon, Mo., and Todd (Denise) Morris of Prairie Village, Kan.; brothers, Cecil A. (Barbara) Young of Fairfax, Mo., Kenneth D. (Elaine) Young of North Carolina, and Melvin G. Young of Blue Springs, Mo.; sister, Lydia E. Wagner of Lees Summit, Mo.; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services: Friday, March 30, 2018, 3:00 pm, River of Hope Church, Mound City, where family will greet friends beginning at 1:30 pm. Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City.
