R. Samuel Yount

Robert Samuel "Sam" Yount, 82, passed away at a Mason City, Iowa hospital on Monday, April 16, 2018.

He was born on January 19, 1936 in Craig, Missouri to Jesse O. and Bessie L. (Goolsby) Yount.

Sam graduated from Craig High School in 1954.

He worked at a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska for several years, and also worked at floral shops. Sam loved music and was a talented organist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse O. and Bessie L. (Goolsby) Yount; brothers, Glen and J. Jesse “Jay” Yount; and sisters, Marjorie Crist, Colene White and Virginia Long.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, and friend, Dale Hatfield of Thornton, Iowa.

Funeral mass: Friday, April 20, 2018, 10:30 am, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Forest City. The family will greet friends beginning one hour prior to the services. Interment: Craig I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
