Robert J. "Bob" Meyer

Robert J. “Bob” Meyer was born on April 22, 1930 in St. Joseph, Missouri to William
and Opal (Kuhn) Meyer. Bob graduated from Oregon High School, and then
later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He married Jerry Patterson, and they became parents of four boys.
Bob passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at the age of 83 at a St. Joseph hospital.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Bill, Donald Bruce, and Ronnie; and brother-in-law, Merrill Buckles.Survivors include his wife, Jerry, of their Oregon home; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Barbara Meyer of Alpine, California, Jim Meyer of Oregon, Dale Meyer of Cortez, Colorado, and Mark and Beth Meyer of Falls City,  Nebraska; grandchildren, Aaron Meyer of Lincoln, Nebraska, and  Andrew Meyer of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Alita Meyer of Oregon, and Alvin and Rosie Meyer of Bolivar, Missouri; sisters, Nancy Buckles of Oregon, Linda Neiderhouse of Mound City, Missouri, Betty and her husband Gary Richner of Pleasant Hope, Missouri, and Janet Blazer of Mound City; sisters-in-law, Martha Meyer of St. Joseph, Bernadine Meyer of Oregon, and Carolyn Meyer of Oregon; and nieces and nephews.


Services were held on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 2:00 pm at the Oregon Presbyterian Church. Visitation was held Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. Burial was at Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Maple Grove Cemetery.
