On Monday night, May 20, 2019 in his hospital room in St. Joseph, Missouri, at age 82 years, 3 months and 6 days, and surrounded by his pastor and family, Robert William Drewes went to his eternal home.

Robert was born on February 14, 1937 at Craig, Missouri. He married Rita Kaye Caton on June 17, 1962. God blessed this union with four children; Sheri (Chris) Sharp, Nancy (Leslee) Monroe, Eddie (Theresa) Drewes and David (Greta) Drewes; followed by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Robert was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church west of Craig, where he remained a member for many years. Later he transferred his membership to Holy Trinity in Mound City after St. Peters was destroyed. In 2016 he attended River of Hope Fellowship until in 2019 his health would no longer allow him to attend.

Robert served on many boards throughout his lifetime; school, county and church. He dearly loved his life as a Missouri farmer.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Frieda (Stuenkel) Drewes; brother, Kenneth Drewes; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Carroll and Louise Caton.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Rita; their children and their families; 11 grandchildren, Zachary (LeighAnne) Sharp, Ryan (Rachel) Sharp, Taylor (Laura) Sharp, Lindsey (Monroe) Bryce Echternacht, Hillary (Monroe) and Jered Bare, Shelby (Monroe) and Taylor Wesley, Landon (Shelby) Monroe, Faith and Logan Drewes, Trevor (Alexahia) Drewes and Wyatt Drewes; 14 great grandchildren, Brittyn, Beckett, Benjamin, Heather, Daniel, William and Kayleigh Sharp, Drake and Gage Ogle and Cash Echternacht, Kynlee and Zoey Bare, and Shaylee and Landry Wesley; his sister and brother-in-law, Eva Jane and Gary Anderson; brother, Ronald Drewes; niece and nephew; numerous cousins; and many friends.

Services: Friday, May 24 th , 2019, 2:00 pm, River of Hope Fellowship, Hwy 159 and I-29. Family will greet friends beginning at 12:30 pm prior to the services, at the church. Interment: I.O.O. F Cemetery, Craig, Missouri. Memorials:  River of Hope Fellowship.
