Robert "Bobby" J. Boswell

Robert “Bobby” James Boswell was born in New Point, Missouri on December 14, 1930. He passed from this life on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Oregon Care Center. He was 81 years old and a member of the Woodville Presbyterian Church.

Bob enjoyed 35 plus years as an over-the-road truck driver. In his years with MNX he always remained on the top 10 driver list, keeping his truck in tip-top shape. His handle on the CB was “Red Top.” Bob got his start in trucking back in 1961 with Justrite Dairy. He especially enjoyed the filming of “Paper Moon” at the old Robidoux Hotel across from the dairy.

His parents Fay and Marjorie (Buntz) Boswell preceded him in death.

Bob is survived by his wife, Rowena, of the home, married 62 years; his sister, Donna (Jim) Boyles of Maryville, Missouri; two sons, Terry (Lucy) Boswell and Rick (Janet) Boswell, all of Oregon; one daughter, Lisa (Lenny) Brotsch of St. Joseph, Missouri; two grandsons, Zachary (Brenda) Boswell of Kearney, Missouri and Robert Lee (Janell) Boswell of Phoenix, Arizona; five granddaughters, Contessa (Daniel) Hunziger of Oregon, Missouri, Cassandra (John Joe) Sanchez of Fort Stockton, Texas, Corinna (Manny) Dominguez of McCamey, Texas, Megan (Josh) DeBee, Fort Lewis, Washington, and Maryrose Brotsch of St. Joseph, Missouri; three step grandsons, Nick, Tony and Dominic Brotsch, all of Chicago, Illinois; and six great grandchildren, Chenoa and Jacole Hunziger, Chloe and Emalynn DeBee, Orion and Isabella Boswell and one great granddaughter on the way.

Funeral service were held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 10:30 am at the Oregon Presbyterian Church.  Interment was at the New Point Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Hands of Hope Hospice, the charity of donor’s choice, or the Oregon Care Center. The fine staff there went above and beyond the call of duty in caring for our loved one.
