Roberta J. Reynolds was born in New Point, Missouri on June 25, 1919. She was the fourth of five daughters born to William and Ollie (Acton) Terry. Roberta graduated from Oregon High School in 1937.
On December 2, 1939 she married Owen “Tot” Reynolds, and they became parents of two children, Dorothy Jean and Jimmie Dean. Tot passed away in April 1974.
Roberta was a farm wife, and was an active member and pianist for the Forest City Christian. She was a member of the Brush College Club, a member of the Fortnightly Music Club, a volunteer for the Mound City Nutrition Site, and delivered meals for several years. Roberta was also known for the many quilts that she had hand quilted. She was a cook for the South Holt Junior High School from 1965 to 1976.
Roberta passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at an Oregon health care facility at the age of 93.
In addition to her husband, Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Wilmina Woods, Lela Allen, and Florene Wardlow.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy Jean and Russell Jumps of Mound City; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie and Evelyn Reynolds of Forest City; sister, Jane Joseph of St. Joseph, Missouri; five grandchildren and their spouses, R.O. (Stephanie) Jumps, Renee (James) Elliott, Ronnie (Jennifer) Jumps, Rustin (Shelly) Jumps, and JayDee (Robin) Reynolds; seven great grandchildren, Lacy, Erica, Jordan, Levi, Miles, Hayden and Hadley; two great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
