Ronald "Ronnie" L. Meyer

Ronald L. “Ronnie” Meyer was born in Oregon, Missouri on July 25, 1937 to William and Opal Irene (Kuhn) Meyer. He graduated from Oregon High School in 1956.

Ronnie married Carolyn S. Dreher on August 16, 1958. He worked for Dugdale Packing Company for over 20 years, and then began farming in 1983.

Ronnie passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012 at an Oregon healthcare facility at the age of 74.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rodney Dean Meyer; daughter, Rhonda Gail Meyer; brothers, Donald B. and William L. Meyer; brother-in-law, Merrill Buckles; and two great grandchildren, Morgan and Lily Myers.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Carolyn, of their Oregon home; son and daughter-in-law, Kelly D. and Kathy Meyer of Oregon, daughter, Kerry Brunk and her friend, Rick Strating of Conception Junction, Missouri; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Jerry Meyer, and Richard and Alita Meyer, all of Oregon, and Alvin and Rosalee Meyer of Bolivar, Missouri; sisters, Nancy Buckles of Oregon, Linda Neiderhouse of Mound City, Missouri, Betty and husband Gary Richner of Halfway, Missouri, and Janet Blazer of Mound City; sisters-in-law, Bernadine Meyer of Oregon, and Martha Meyer of St. Joseph; grandchildren and their spouses, Tiffanie and Brian Phillippe, Christopher and Ashley Meyer, Melissa and Carson Harrison, Cassie Brunk, and McKenzie Meyer; five great grandchildren, Kody, Kylie and Khloe Phillippe, Bayleigh Harrison and Paisley Meyer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 10:30 at the Oregon United Methodist Church.  Interment was at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Oregon. Memorials may be directed to the Holt County Cancer Fund.
