Rosealie Audrey Wallace

Rosealie Audrey Wallace, 92, was welcomed Home by her Lord on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.

She was born in Labbadie, Missouri on June 2, 1919. Rosealie moved to Forest City at the age of 13, and thought that it was the most beautiful place on earth.

On September 2, 1935 she married Ermine B. Wallace. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Rosealie worked at Wyeth Hardware in St. Joseph. She retired from Wyeth to care for her mother-in-law, Nellie Pearl (Ramsey) Wallace.

In addition to her husband Ermine, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Shelton Sr. and Viola (Caldwell) Shelton; daughter, Eula Mae Kush; brother, Dewey Shelton Jr.; infant sister, Lenora Shelton; grandsons, David and Dean Bomar; and sons-in-law, Gene Kush, Gerald Bomar, and Earl Shannon.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Ron and Renee Wallace of Easton, Missouri, Joy Shannon of St. Joseph, and Vicki and Gary Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri; brother and sister-in-law, William and Charlotte Shelton of Wheatland, Missouri; sisters, Janeta and her husband Royce Foster of St. Joseph, and Kay Dierking of Longmont, Colorado; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Rosealie was an active member of the Forest City Christian Church for many years, and later attended the First Christian Church in Mound City.

Rosealie loved music. She played her guitar and sang as a young girl. She also loved to read, and always had a yard filled with beautiful flowers. Most of all Rosealie loved her family. Grandkids always filled her home on weekends and in the summertime.

She has seen us all through thick and thin, and we will so miss her contagious laughter, her devotion, and most of all her unconditional love.

Service were held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. Burial was held at the Benton Cemetery.
