Shirley Jane Hooley was born April 6, 1940 in Mound City, Missouri, She was the daughter of Ernest Clifford and Martha Jane (Pierson) Hooley.
Throughout her life she lived in Missouri, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, and most recently Nebraska.
Shirley married Richard D. Whittecar on May 27, 1960. They had six daughters. She worked as a seamstress.
Shirley passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at a Kearney, Nebraska hospital.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ernest and Martha; infant daughter, Brenda Lou Whittecar; three brothers, Fred, Eldon and Jerry Hooley; and brother-in-law, Tony Harris.
Survivors include her five daughters and their spouses, Wanda (Steve) Hollis of Oregon, Missouri, Glenda (Thomas) Eddy of Windsor, Colorado, Valinda “Jody” (Scott) Hungenberg of Eaton, Colorado, Debi (Tim) Petrishen of Bastrop, Texas, and Laurie (Korby) Kleven of Holdrege, Nebraska; brother, John (Rita) Hooley of Windsor, Colorado; sister, Betty Harris of Cheyenne, Wyoming; sister-in-law, Nadine Hooley of Loveland, Colorado; 21 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and lots of nieces and nephews.
Family visitation: Mon., Sept. 24, 2018, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, River of Hope Fellowship Church, Forest City, Mo. Services: Tues, Sept. 25, 2018, 10:30 am, River of Hope Fellowship Church. Interment: Benton Cemetery.
