Thomas R. Hunziger was born on March 6, 1928 in Oregon, Missouri to Robert F. and Inez (Derr) Hunziger. Tom was a lifelong Holt County resident and farmer.
In 1950 he married Shirley A. Grimes, and they became parents of seven children.
Tom passed away on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015 at a Kansas City hospital at the age of 87.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter; son, Stephen T. Hunziger; and sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Thomas Stull.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Shirley, of their Oregon home, daughter-in-law, Rhonda Hunziger of Craig, Missouri; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell (Sharon) Hunziger of Forest City, Missouri, Alvin (Marcia) Hunziger of Atchison, Kansas, and Edward Hunziger of Forest City; daughters and sons-in-law, Lori (Ron) Holliday of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Patricia (Bryce) Schoonover of Mound City, Missouri; brother and sister-in-law, Max (Jackie) Hunziger of Forest City; sister and brother-in-law, Helen (Lewis) Miller of Oregon; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, 10:30 am, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Family visitation: Sunday, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the funeral home. Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery, Oregon. Memorials: Maple Grove Cemetery or Mound City Nutrition Site.
