Twyla Rose (Thurnau) Haer, 85, passed away Jan. 10, 2018 at Tiffany Heights Care Center in Mound City, Missouri.
She was born Feb. 11, 1932 near Craig, Missouri to Otto and Rosie (Ernsting) Thurnau.
She graduated from Craig High School in 1949 and then graduated from St. Luke's Hospital nursing school in 1953. She worked in the medical field on and off during her lifetime. During the last 10 years of her career she worked at Tiffany Heights.
Twyla married Emmett Haer in Craig on January 16, 1954. He survives of their home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Kathy Thurnau; and nephew, Gene Thurnau.
Survivors include her husband, Emmett; children, Johnny (Sheryl) Haer of Jamaica, Kathy Haer and Chris (Bonita) Haer, all of Craig; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Gailen (Shirley) Thurnau of Sarasota, Florida, and Everett (Peggy) Thurnau of Sidney, Arkansas; and sisters, Sharilyn (John) Bielefeldt of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Teresa (David) Showalter of Mound City.
Family visitation: Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Funeral services: Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, 11:00 am, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the services, at the River of Hope Fellowship Church. Memorials: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Alzheimer's Association. Inurnment: Craig I.O.O.F. Cemetery, at a later date.
