Vada Miran Fender was born Jan. 14, 1926 outside of Parsons, Kan. to Frank G. and Stella (Willson) Smith. The family moved to Tarkio, Mo. where she attended a country school, and then Tarkio High School.
Vada lived in Tarkio most of her life, and then moved to the Lake of the Ozarks area for several years before moving to Rock Port, Mo. She was currently living in an assisted living facility in Nebraska.
Vada passed away on July 4, 2016 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents; four husbands; nine brothers; one sister; son, Steve; and step daughter, Nancy Cox.
Surviving loved ones include her sons, Larry (Sue) Campbell of Raymore, Mo., David (Sarah) Campbell of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; daughter, Linda (Bill) Wernecke of Fremont, Neb.; stepchildren, Linda S. (Vernon) Schaeffer of Tarkio, Roxanne (John) Maygar of Montgomery, Penn., Rick (Debbe) Richardson of Villisca, Iowa, and David (Joanne) Fender of Auburn, Neb.; stepson-in-law, Dan Cox of Omaha, Neb.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Graveside services and inurnment: Friday, July 8, 2016, 1:00 pm, High Creek Cemetery, Watson, Mo. Family will greet friends afterwards at a luncheon at the Memorial Building in Rock Port.
