Verletta M. Hurst

Verletta M. Hurst was born on Nov. 22, 1939 to Harry E. and M. Wilma (Weston) Zion, and attended high school in Graham and Fillmore, Mo.
On Nov. 22, 1956 she married Ronald D. Hurst, and they became parents of five children. Verletta received her associate degree from Platte Business College, and then began working for the Division of Family Services as a clerk. She worked her way up to county supervisor, and retired from that position.
Verletta passed away on Wed., Dec. 6, 2017 at the Oregon Care Center at the age of 78.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, R. David Hurst; brother, Ronald Zion; and sister, Sharon Zion.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald, of their Oregon home; sons, Anthony Eldon (Kathy) Hurst and Tracy Eugene (Joyce) Hurst; daughters, Lorraine Clark and Vonda Hurst; brother, Maurice (Janet) Zion; sisters, Shirley (Ed) Staples and Nellie (Joseph) Christensen; sister-in-law, Ardith Zion; 10 beloved grandchildren, Christopher David (Amber) Hurst, Monica (Roy) Beckner, Cameron Hurst, Samuel Hurst, Kenyon David (Erica) Hurst, Josie Hurst, Finnen Hurst, Alwen Hurst, Hannah Walker, and Kayla Knoth; and 10 beloved great grandchildren, Allora Hurst, Chloe McKinnon, Aisley Hurst, Addison McKinnon, Ryker Beckner, Mia Hurst, Pyper Beckner, Brylee Beckner, Dominic Hurst, and Abel Hurst.
Services: Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Memorials may be directed to the Oregon Care Center Activity Fund, for the Serenity Garden.
