Vesta Rose (Moser) Delp was born in Oregon, Missouri on January 29, 1930. She was one of seven children of John Jack and Iva Susanna (Schank) Moser. Vesta attended school in Oregon.
She married Paul Delp on January 25, 1958, and they became parents of four children.
Vesta worked as a CNA at the former Brown’s Nursing Home and later Oregon Care Center. Growing up, she also worked at the theater and skating rink in Oregon.
Vesta was a member of the Oregon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed yard work, playing board games with grandchildren, and going to their events.
Her husband Paul passed away in 2004. Vesta passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Community Hospital in Fairfax, Missouri.
Vesta was also preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Moser; sisters, Iola Moore and Velma Moser; son-in-law, Michael Davison; grandson, Kendall Delp; and an infant granddaughter.
Survivors include her children, Johnny (Brenda) Delp of Amazonia, Missouri, and Angela Davison and Deanna Schmidt (Stanley Quick), both of Oregon, and Gregory (Cindy) Delp of Lewistown, Missouri; sisters, Marilyn Garber of St. Joseph, Missouri and Carolyn Skilling of Oregon; brother, Otto Moser of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Randy (Nikki) and William Delp, Michele (Joel) Gordon, Chris (Brandee) Davison, Jessica and Jason Schmidt, Aaron (Natalie) Delp, and Gwen, Felicia, Tomi, and Eddie Delp; great grandchildren, Chelsea, Emma, and Jacob Gordon, Camdyn, Bristol, and Baby Davison (due in April), Brayley Robinson, Cayson Delp, and Brinley Hullinger; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: Friday, January 22, 2021, 2:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon, Missouri, with open visitation beginning Thursday morning. Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery, Oregon. Social distancing and masks are recommended for those attending the visitation or service. Memorials: Oregon Meals-on-Wheels program. Vesta’s wish was to challenge people to donate one day per month to the Meals-on Wheels program.
