Vick R. Scroggins

Vick R. Scroggins, 69, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at his Forest City home.

Vick was born on September 14, 1948 in St. Joseph, Missouri, one of five sons of Leonard and Berneta (Barrett) Scroggins.

Vick graduated from Oregon High School and attended Maryville College. He married Stella Hinkle, and they became parents of four children. They later divorced.

Vick managed the family business, Scroggins Hardware, in Oregon for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Francis.

Survivors include his children, Tracey (Mike) Kelly of Joplin, Missouri, Darrick and Jarod Scroggins, both of Forest City, and Cliff (Rachel) Scroggins of St. Joseph; 12 grandchildren; loving companion and her family, Peggy "Peg" Huffer of Savannah, Missouri; brothers, Larry (Ronna Beth) and Dave (Judy) all of Oregon, and LaVerne Scroggins of Forest City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family visitation: Friday, March 9, 2018, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon, Missouri. Funeral services: Saturday, March 10, 2018, 10:30 am, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Interment: Forbes Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Forbes Cemetery Association.
