Wanda Lee Hinkle (nee Fresen), age 80, passed away on October 15, 2025 in Oregon, Missouri.
Born on February 19, 1945, Wanda was the daughter of Rev. Edward H. and Lela Bertha Nora (Bremer) Fresen. In September of 1968 she married John Lyle Hinkle. Together they had two children: Susan Katherine and Nathaniel Justus. Though their marriage later ended in divorce, Wanda remained devoted to her family throughout her life
Wanda spent much of her professional life in healthcare, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Kansas City. Her dedication to caring for others was evident in her work and reflected the compassion she carried into all areas of her life.
In 2000 Wanda returned to Mound City to be closer to her grandchildren. This move marked a meaningful chapter in her life, allowing her to spend cherished time with those she held dear.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Susie Derr of St. Joseph, Missouri; granddaughter, Savanah Derr Mildfeldt and husband Dylan of Maryville, Missouri; and grandson, Conner Derr of Mound City, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her son, Nathan Hinkle; her parents, Edward and Lela Fresen; her brother, Edward C. Fresen; and former spouse, John L. Hinkle.
May Wanda's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
A private family inurnment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Mound City at a later date.
