Wendell L. Hinkle was born December 10, 1934 in Fortescue, Missouri, the son of Alton B. and Beulah F. (Smith) Hinkle.
Wendell graduated from Craig High School, and then attended Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, Missouri. He farmed in Holt County all of his life.
Wendell served in the Air National Guard for 11 years. On June 12, 1965 he married Virginia A. “Ginny” Elliott in Huntsville, Arkansas.
Wendell passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012, at a Falls City, Nebraska hospital at the age of 77.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Ginny, of their Bigelow home; brother, Anthony “Tony” Hinkle, and sister, Winona Christensen, both of St. Joseph, Missouri; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lila Harvey of St. Joseph, Helen and Harry Frock of Savannah, Missouri,
Harold and Rita Elliott of Lansing, Illinois, Dave and Darlene Elliott of Savannah, Glen and Peggy Calhoun of St. Joseph, and John and Bonnie Eberhart of St. Joseph; nieces, including Bethany Potter of Stewartsville, Missouri, and Charlotte Mitchell of Springfield, Missouri; nephews, including Brooks Christensen of Humble, Texas; and special friends, Russ and Sharon Hunziger and their children Ashley and Rachel, all of Forest City, Missouri, and Jessica Wasson of Baldwin City, Kansas.
