William E. "Bill" Graff

William Edward “Bill” Graff, 91, of Richmond, formerly of Mound City and Braymer, Mo., died April 20, 2022, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Bill was born on July 19, 1930, in Mound City, the son of William Oren and Lucille (Travis) Graff.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Jolene (Ullum) of Peabody, KS, on December 29, 1950, and she preceded him in death on July 6, 2006.

Survivors include: two sons, Michael W. (Joni) Graff of Braymer; Patrick L. (Beverly) Graff of Olathe, KS; daughter, Glenda Sue Graff (Bruce Bogan) of Tempe, AZ, six grandchildren, Ryan (Rachel) Graff, Nicole (Nathan)Wilson, Heather (Ron) Maulsby, Tyler (Theresa) Graff, Talon (Jacqulaine) Graff; eight, great-grandchildren, Mason Graff, Morgan Graff, Lilly Rose Graff, Will Graff, Kinley Ellis, Scarlett Graff, Jaxson Wilson and Von Graff; three step-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Knapp, Fort Collins, CO, Peggy (Jerry) Johnson, Mound City, and uncle, Dean Travis, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson, Tyson Graff, three brothers, Dennis, Robert “Ronnie”, and Charles” Chuck” Graff, and sister, Shirley Moore.

Bill was reared and educated in the area of his birth.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1947-1949.  He was a 1950’s graduate from Holt County R-2 High School.  Bill owned and operated Bill’s Sales and Service Auto Parts Store in Mound City.  He loved to hunt, was an avid pool player and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at the farm.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

A visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.  An additional visitation with funeral services will be held on, Saturday April 23, 2022, at Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, with services to follow at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday following services, in the Graff Cemetery south of Braymer, with full Military Honors.
