William "Bill" Kneale

William R. "Bill" Kneale was born on October 19, 1943, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of Kenneth and Esther (Marriner) Kneale.

A lifelong resident of the area, Bill attended the New Point grade school, and graduated from Oregon High School in 1961. He then graduated from Northwest Missouri State College at Maryville, Missouri in 1966 with a degree in history.

Following college, Bill came back to farm with his dad for many years before becoming a permanent substitute teacher for the St. Joseph School District. He retired from teaching in 2008 and moved into Oregon. He assisted in taking care of his mother until she entered the nursing home in 2011.

Bill passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at a St. Joseph hospital at the age of 69.

Preceding him in death was his father, Kenneth Kneale, and his brother, Ben Kneale.

Survivors include his mother, Esther Kneale of Oregon; brother, K.R. Kneale of Oregon; sister, Judy Scheib of Oregon; aunt, Ruth Hollenbeck of Concordia, Missouri; nephews, Scott Scheib of Oregon and John Kneale of Nashville, Tennessee; nieces, Carol Rogers of Oregon, Beth Adams of Omaha, Nebraska, and Cindy Kneale of Kansas City, Missouri; and many great nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 3:00 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon, Missouri. Interment: was held at New Point Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the New Point Cemetery.
